NEW YORK, Oct. 21, 2016 — The third and final debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton dominated this week’s TV blogs. But now that the televised debates are over, the only thing left for TV to do is cover the voting on Election Night. Meanwhile, the TV blog will now turn away from politics toward the rest of TV.

That’s how many MediaPost TV blogs I have written in 2016 as of this date, Oct. 20,  on the campaign and the candidates.

The 33 included previews and recaps of all three presidential debates (plus the VP debate on Oct. 4), morning-after commentaries on all eight evenings that comprised the Republican and Democratic national conventions last summer, and a host of other election-related topics at the nexus of politics and television.

NEW YORK, Oct. 14, 2016 — For once, politics did not dominate this week’s MediaPost TV blogs, although you might say politicians were the subject of at least three of them.

First, there was a recap of the second debate between Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton and, by week’s end, a look at Nick Nolte playing a fictional ex-president on “Graves” on Epix.  All that and David Letterman paying a visit to a politician too — Indian prime minister Narendra Modi on National Geographic Channel.
